Paid Lunch Price Increase - Aug 2014-15 SY; Please be advised that we are required by the Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act (HHFKA) of 2010 to raise Paid Lunch meal prices by minimal amounts each year. The required price adjustment for the coming 2014-15 School year is $0.05 per paid lunch meal. This is the minimum increase we can perform and comply with HHFKA. The increase does not affect breakfasts, a la carte meal pricing, free and reduced students, or Community Eligibility Option (CEO) schools where all children eat for free. 

The Paid Lunch Meal price for Elementary schools would increase from $1.70 to $1.75 per paid lunch meal and the Paid Lunch Meal price for Secondary schools would increase from $2.20 to $2.25 per paid lunch meal. These new prices would still be below most other Districts as shown in the attached meal price comparison for other counties. These small meal price increases were anticipated and approved by School Board through the 2016 school year. Overall, performing small $0.05 to $0.10 cent increases per year allows our School District to comply with HHFKA requirements and also avoid larger, more shocking $0.25 cent per paid lunch meal increases in the future.
