About Our Class

Hello Parents and Students,

First, welcome to the class blog! I will use this blog as a major source of information sharing and learning for parents and students this year. You can feel free to leave comments here on the blog, email me privately at stanberryk@duvalschools.org, or call me at the school (260-5860 ext. 2135). Please take some time with your child to explore the class blog, the links and the fun stuff! Get familiar with where to add money to your child's lunch account, view the classroom calendar.

I will keep you updated on what is happening in our classroom via this blog and through remind.com. I, with few exceptions, update the blog several times a month. If you can commit to reading it for about 2 minutes each week you can expect that you will be "in the loop" as to the learning and activities in our classroom. I will still communicate with you via your child's planner, Tuesday Folder, and weekly conduct cards. There will be a note in the planner or on the conduct card within the planner if there is a behavior issue or an important matter that we need to discuss. Please sign the conduct card each night. It will be your child's responsibility to bring home a weekly homework assignment sheet every Friday. This year your child will become a responsible, reliable student!

I will dive right in.... learning from the first day of school and not stop until the last day of school. There will be very little "down time". Two of the great missions this year is to teach each student the value of education and being kind to one another. There will be zero tolerance for students using unkind words, picking on other students, etc. Students who are in a non threatening, nurturing environment learn better-it's a fact! Learning in our class is an exciting adventure that will foster a love of learning and exploring in each student.

If you would like to see how your child's classroom runs on a daily basis, We would encourage you to take a few minutes to browse through the archives of posts here on the blog each month.
