Celebrate Literacy & Student Reading Achievements
Please mark your calendars and attend the 14th year of celebrating the literacy accomplishments of our students at the 2016 Reading Extravaganza (formerly the PEP Rally for Educational Excellence)! Hosted by Duval County Public Schools, students will receive recognition for reading achievements, enjoy fun-filled activities, hear local celebrities reading their favorite children’s books, and watch student performances. Be sure to stop by sponsor booths for literacy information, free giveaways, a book swap, take the Public Education Strong pledge to qualify for prizes, and visit an onsite food truck. There is no cost for attendance, and it is open to the entire community!
Reading Medal Pick-Up for Students:
  • Students need to meet Annual Reading Expectation by Grade Level (Click Here for expectations)
  • Each school will provide Certificate of Achievement to all students who met reading expectations before the event (DCPS only)
  • Students need to bring and show Certificate of Achievement in order to pick-up medal at the 2016 Reading Extravaganza at Hemming Park on May 14th anytime from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
