Dear
Parents:
The upcoming weeks
continue to mark a significant time for both our students and teachers in Duval
County Public Schools. Students across the district will be provided the
opportunity to demonstrate the levels of hard work and dedication they have put
forth in preparing for the annual statewide assessments. Over the next few
weeks, 5th Grade Elementary students will be administered the Florida
State Assessment (FSA) in Science and Middle and High School students will be
required to take the English Language Arts and Science assessment as well.
While we are
confident that our students are well-prepared, we recognize the anxiety and
uncertainty that often come with testing environments. As a result, we have
decided to issue report cards on Friday, April 17th, in an effort to ensure that proper care
and focus is placed on the state assessments without any disruption. As our
students continue to work through the testing window, the district requests your
support at home by ensuring that your child receives a good night’s rest,
nutritious breakfast, and daily encouragement.
We thank you for
your support and share great pride for our students and teachers and their
commitment to educational excellence in every classroom, every day.
If you have any
questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your school for more
information.
